MY STORY

Donna Page

Painting to me is a way to share meaningful experiences with those who appreciate my work. Moments, capturing an essence of a place, time or feeling is what i wish to convey to my audience.

My past work dealt with photo realistic effects, often large rendered florals in pastel, gouche, watercolor, acrylic and oil. I love experimenting with the theories of color and light and the creation of luminous effects. My love of experimentation has evolved into my present work which deals with abstraction of the landscape using collage, cold wax, acrylic and oil.

I am a native of Dallas, Texas where I worked as an architectural illustrator for 25 years and pursued work in Fine Art. In 2010, along with my husband Paul we relocated to Lake Bob Sandlin in East Texas. In 2010, upon completion of a Master of Arts degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce, I achieved my dream of becoming a Professor of Art and teaching at NTCC in East Texas.

I now concentrate completely on my work in Fine Art. I am very active in the local arts community in Winnsboro, TX. I lead an arts group, The WAF'S, Women's art Force of Winnsboro.

Paul and I have two daughters and now enjoy life on the lake with our 11 rescue animals; Bunker and Birdie the border collies and our 9 cats; Dorri, Russ, Kirby, Scooter, Lilli, Sass, Artie, Gwen and Lorri.
